The next day i showed the kids the fabric covers i had made and they got surprisingly excited; to the point that they wanted to make their own covers for some smaller (A6) notebooks they had. So we had fun choosing fabric from the scrap box (don't need much for such small books) and got to it. They helped to do the sewing on the machine too. Here's what they made:

It is a bit easier to see the flaps on this one as we used a contrasting fabric for the inside piece.
